Uploading Content to DropBox

This information will help you if I’ve requested that you upload files into DropBox.

I create what is called a “DropBox Request”, which is specific and unique to you, your organization, or your upcoming event. This creates a URL which I will provide to you.

Once you click on that link, you’ll see a screen similar to this:

From there, you simply drag-and-drop the files over the Add Files button, or click the Add Files button and navigate to your files and select them.

Below is screen shot of dragging and dropping files from your computer into the DropBox web site.

Once you have dropped or selected files, you’ll see the list of files selected to far, and be given the opportunity to include more files. If you’re done selecting files, enter your name (first and last please) and your email address, and press the Upload button. The files will begin to upload. Please be patient as the files are uploaded.

Advanced users:

  • If you already have a DropBox account, log into your account before starting. During the file selection process, you can navigate to and select your files within your DropBox account. DropBox will copy them directly to the Request folder from their online copy (assuming your files have synced). This is much faster than doing an upload from your computer over the Internet, especially for large files.
